All the wiring should be self explanatory. The PID has symbols on the back for where it goes. If the person was messing with anything other than those two wires then I'd go after them to have it professionally repaired. A photo of yours would be helpful. I own 5 shakers now plus my DIY cart. all but two are different because they are from the same batch and place.
